The Strongsville Lacrosse Association has quickly become one of the leading lacrosse programs in the North Coast Chapter of US Lacrosse. The Association was founded in 2008 by Geoff Belz and Scott DeLisio. In our first year, the association totaled 35, 5th and 6th grade boys who competed in the Youth Division. In 2009, the program expanded to 3rd/4th and Middle School (7th and 8th) grade teams represented by over 85 boys. The program added girls’ 5/6th grade and Middle School team for 2010, with great results. Since then, Strongsville Lacrosse is the home for over 250 youth lacrosse players. We expect our success at the Youth and Middle School divisions be the building blocks for the Strongsville Boys and Girls High School programs.
Philosophy & Objectives
The Strongsville Lacrosse Association was found with the following objectives:
- Build interest in the sport of lacrosse within the city of Strongsville that would act as springboard for future expansion to all relevant boys and girls age groups.
- Offer the youth of Strongsville an alternative to other spring sports.
- Develop player understanding of the sport of lacrosse and teach the fundamentals of good sportsmanship and fair play.
- Develop a program that will allow Strongsville to compete at the highest level with other programs in the state of Ohio who already have established youth and middle school programs.
What People are saying about our Program
We love our coaches and my son enjoys lacrosse very much. Coaches are very focused and they keep the kids busy. There is definitely progress visible since we started.
My middle daughter LOVES Coach Besty! She actually still talks about him months later and she now loves lacrosse. The coaches are what make this program special!
Both my sons are in this program. The coaches are great with the kids and have them doing very fun drills to keep the kids attention. The boys are constantly laughing and having a great time the full practice while learning the basics of lacrosse. I am very impressed with this program.
